Tasting notes

Deep garnet-brick colored, the 1986 Chateau Rauzan-Segla offers a complex dried berry and leather nose with nuances of Indian spices, smoked meat and black truffles. Led by structure in the mouth, it has a generous amount of mature fruit for the medium level of finely grained / youthful tannins and enlivening acid, finishing long. It’s drinking very well right now, though there’s no rush to consume.

Producer

Chateau Rauzan-Segla

Chateau Rauzan-Segla is a winery in the Margaux appellation of the Bordeaux region of France. Chateau Rauzan-Segla is also the name of the red wine produced by this property. The wine produced here was classified as one of fifteen Deuxièmes Crus (Second Growths) in the original Bordeaux Wine Official Classification of 1855. The alternate name "Rausan-Segla" was also frequently used until 1994 when the original "Rauzan-Segla" again became the official name.
