Bright medium ruby. Brooding, liqueur-like aromas of black fruits, violet and bitter chocolate are quite powerful but youthfully reticent. Densely packed, fine-grained and highly concentrated, with its thick black fruit flavors framed and enlivened by surprisingly fresh acidity for such a ripe wine. Really superb texture and depth for a wine from this producer. Finishes with powerful but well-buffered tongue-coating tannins and outstanding, slowly rising length. There's no easy sweetness here, but this compellingly rich, utterly primary wines really saturates the palate. Great potential here
