Tasting notes

A very pungent nose presently exhibits residual secondary fermentation and wood scents. Much more interesting are the exuberantly fresh and superbly concentrated broad-shouldered flavors that are succulent but decidedly powerful before culminating in a muscular, palate staining and hugely long finish. This is excellent and a wine that should age commensurately.

The king of the cellar is the 2022 Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru, a deep and multidimensional wine redolent of pear, peach, clear honey, toasted nuts, freshly baked bread and white flowers. Full-bodied, layered and structured, its satiny attack segues into a concentrated mid-palate and a long, saline finish. (WK)
